Typhoid Ileal Perforation: Comparative Study of Ileostomy Versus Primary Repair and associated Morbidity and Mortality

Objectives: To study the result of primary repair with ileostomy in cases typhoid ileal perforation.
 Study Design: Quasi-experimental study.
 Place and Duration Study: Department Surgery, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi Pakistan, from May 2019 to Jun 2020
 Methodology: Participants who were operated on for perforation included, while patients presented a hollow viscus other than excluded study. Peritoneal lavage exploration performed. All per-operative findings documented. In addition, socio-demographic clinical parameters, including postoperative complications morbidity/mortality, documented.
 Results: Out 73 individuals included this research, 52 underwent repair, whereas 21 ileostomy. Patients had undergone higher morbidity (61.90%) mortality (19.00%) rate Primary Repair Group. Group significantly rates wound dehiscence infection, electrolyte imbalance, weight loss Group.
